Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is the difference between ROI and ROE?
ROI is return on the full notional position (total trade size); ROE is return on your actual margin (collateral posted). At 10x leverage, ROE = ROI Γ 10, so a 1% price move produces 10% ROE.
Q. How much do fees impact PnL?
Binance Taker fee at 0.04% applies on both entry and exit. A $10,000 position at 10x leverage has a $100,000 notional value, generating $80 in round-trip fees β a significant drag on small moves.
Q. What is the breakeven price?
The breakeven price is where PnL equals exactly zero after all fees. For LONG positions: entry price Γ (1 + 2 Γ fee rate). Your profit target must always be set above the breakeven price.
Q. How is unrealized PnL calculated?
Unrealized PnL = (Current Price - Entry Price) Γ Position Size (for LONG). Leverage amplifies both gains and losses proportionally.
Q. Are crypto futures gains taxable?
In Korea, crypto gains above β©2.5M annually are taxed at 22% from 2025. In most countries, crypto trading profits are subject to capital gains or income tax.
Q. Does the calculator include fee deductions?
Yes. Input your entry/exit fee rate and funding fee to see fee-adjusted net profit β the true realized PnL rather than the gross figure.

Expert Knowledge: Crypto PnL Calculator
A common PnL calculation mistake is ignoring fees. At Binance Futures Taker rate of 0.04%, a $10,000 notional position costs $40 per side β $80 round-trip. At 10x leverage, your $1,000 margin controls a $10,000 notional position, making those $80 in fees an 8% drag on your actual capital.
ROI vs ROE: ROI measures return on the total notional position; ROE measures return on your deposited margin. These diverge dramatically with leverage. A 1% favorable price move on a 10x position generates 10% ROE β which also means a 1% adverse move costs 10% ROE.
Breakeven price is critical. For a LONG at $50,000 with 0.04% Taker fee: breakeven = $50,000 Γ (1 + 0.0008) = $50,040. You must close above $50,040 just to break even. Set all profit targets above this threshold, and never forget that even a "winning" trade can turn negative after fees on tight-range scalps.
